Preview: Detective Comics #938

Rise of the Batmen continues in Detective Comics #938!

Batman & team have not been faring to well against this new enemy, The Colony. But now they are trying to take the battle to this new powerful enemy on their own turf in the latest chapter in the Rise Of The Batmen storyline. Will that work? Maybe, but that’s not all Detective Comics #938 is about. Being that this is Batwoman being reintroduced to audiences after her New 52 series was cancelled (and putting her on equal footing with Batman as a partner, not a sidekick), it’s also a pretty prime opportunity for readers to get to know her backstory. And not surprisingly, it’s a tragic one of losing at least a couple of family members. A super-tragic backstory is pretty much a pre-requisite to be part of the Bat-family. I actually had no idea what exactly Batwoman’s backstory was except that she at least used to be a cop, so this preview is pretty illuminating. But why in this issue in particular and tied to this storyline? Does Kate Kane’s father tie into The Colony somehow? Find out by reading Detective Comics #938, available tomorrow!
