Suicide Squad: Jared Leto Feels Tricked

Jared Leto reportedly feels the joke is on him in regards to Suicide Squad  and The Joker

Suicide Squad is out in theaters and the response has not been great. The stars and director for the most part have been at worst pretty diplomatic about it and usually saying stuff like “it’s for fans, not critics” (a lot of those fans most of them hate it as well). But one member of the cast has been pretty vocal about the film. Jared Leto, who played the Joker in Suicide Squad. He has repeatedly mentioned how he filmed a lot of footage that was cut from the film that not only makes him a much more significant part of the movie, but even changes how his relationship with Harley Quinn is portrayed.

Reportedly, Leto felt very overwhelmed by the negative response to both his look as The Joker and his role in Suicide Squad. He also reportedly felt “sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently”.

I mean, this shouldn’t really be all that surprising given Leto’s been pretty honest about how seemingly about 95% of the stuff he filmed for Suicide Squad was left on the cutting room floor. Does this mean Leto would not continue to be Joker through fallout over this making the rounds? My guess is no if only because Warner Bros. seems very content on staying the course with these movies and do not want to take the time to find somebody else to fill the role. They will more likely bend over backwards to keep Leto happy. I mean if they didn’t fire Zack Snyder by now, I don’t see how they would justify doing the same to Leto. Maybe an opportunity to be the lead villain in an upcoming superhero film co-written, starring and directed by Ben Affleck will tide him over….
