DC Doing Day-Long YouTube Stream September 2nd

There will be an all-day live stream on DC’s YouTube channel to celebrate passing One Million Subscribers!

DC’s presence on YouTube has been growing quite a bit lately. They just passed one million subscribers on YouTube recently. That’s a pretty big accomplishment for anybody. Though they have a way to go if they want to get on equal footing with Marvel, which stands at over 3 million currently.

But DC really wants to celebrate this impressive milestone, and are doing so by having an all-day livestream on their channel next Friday, September 2nd. Well, ok it’s 8 hours long instead of say 24. But I think for most of us 8 hours pretty much counts as all-day.

Details on the event are pretty vague at this point. It promises to offer interviews with creators and “more”. What is that “more”? Big announcements? Giveaways? A long overdue Harley Quinn & Deadpool crossover?

Paul Malmont, DCE’s director of digital marketing content, had this to say in a released statement:

"Now, more than ever, we’re committed to bringing unique, entertaining stories about all things DC to our fans. The first-ever DC All Access all-day live stream event is a thank you to our fans for their support."

I do like DC All-Access, it’s a very fun show that’s pretty informative. But admittedly part of the reason it’s good is that each show is about 5 minutes long. I’m not sure how well it will transfer into an 8 hour livestream. I won’t even get much of a chance to watch it on YouTube as next Friday I will be at Dragoncon in Atlanta all day. So honestly I’m kind of hoping there won’t be any big news. But I would think they’d have to throw in the occasional announcement to keep fans interested. If there are any substantial announcements, we’ll be sure to recap them here later in the day or the following day at the latest.
