Dragoncon 2016: Cosplay

There was some amazing cosplay at this year’s Dragoncon!

Cosplay is a big part of virtually any fan convention. Fans dress up as their favorite characters. Sometimes with unique takes like a gender or steampunk twist. Some costumes are simple but brilliant. Some are elaborate and clearly expensive. Some you wonder how they even walk in those things. This is arguably more true at Dragoncon than any other con in the U.S. Over 77,000 people came to downtown Atlanta for the 30th annual Dragoncon. Many of them in costume.

An unfortunate truth of so many people crowding downtown Atlanta over Labor Day Weekend means it’s actually hard to take photos. Some spots are just a mass of humanity that does not move. Some places you actually cannot stop to take a picture. So this is not a megapost with hundreds of pictures. But I do feel it’s a good representation of some of the excellent cosplay on display at this year’s convention. Both Batman-related an otherwise. Check out the gallery below for some great cosplay (and a couple other random things) from this year’s Dragoncon:

This year’s Dragoncon was a tremendous event. I really hope I am attending once again in 2017, that would be my third. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend you go as it is just a very fun time and not a con that gets sold out in seconds like SDCC or PAX. Thanks to the staff at Dragoncon for putting on such a great event for 30 years!
