Mark Hamill & Kevin Conroy tease possible future DC animated movies together

Mark Hamill & Kevin Conroy are the definitive Joker & Batman for a lot of people due to their decades voicing the characters for various DC cartoons, animated films and video games. Kevin Conroy hasn’t really mentioned retiring, that Mark Hamill has claimed to retire several times in the last few years. Hamill always said he wanted to do Killing Joke as a movie. Of course, now that has happened. Killing Joke met with mixed reviews, but is one of the most successful straight-to-video movies ever. So are Hamill & Conroy done with these legendary DC characters now that they have done Killing Joke?

Well if you’ve been paying attention to the casting news for the upcoming DC animated show Justice League Action on Cartoon Network this Fall, you know they aren’t. They are reprising their roles of Batman & Joker for that show. So retirement for either seems at least a bit of a ways off.

This past weekend at Fan Expo Canada, Hamill and Conroy clarified that they aren’t done with the characters. And in fact they would like to do more adaptations of classic DC stories together. Specifically, Conroy asked Hamill “What do you think about doing Hush?”. Hamill responded with “What do you think about doing A Death In The Family?”. Both of which got the crowd at Fan Expo Canada very excited.

Now keep in mind this isn’t any kind of official announcement for either movie. It could very well be that these movies are in fact on the works. It could also be wishful thinking. Either way, unless it’s a rushed production, the earliest we might be seeing these projects is likely 2018. DC’s next few animated films are Justice League Dark, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract and a Batman & Harley Quinn film. those will come out over the next year or so. That means any upcoming movies beyond that are at least a couple years off. We’ll just have to wait and see if DC is adapting these or any other classic Batman stories.
