Telltale’s Batman In Stores This Week
Now you can pick up Telltale’s Batman in stores and check out some screens of episode 2!
The first episode of Telltale’s Batman has been available digitally for weeks now. But if for some reason you just had to get a physical copy, now you have the opportunity. Sort of. The Telltale game physically arrived in retail stores such as Gamestop and Best Buy today. Here’s the official press release from Telltale themselves about the release via email:
"BATMAN – The Telltale Series is now available to purchase at retailers for a MSRP of $29.99 USD or equivalent in North America as a special “Season Pass Disc,” which includes the first of five episodes in the season, and grants access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download via online updates. The series will also be available to purchase at retailers across Europe beginning Sept. 16. Available platforms in both North America and Europe include Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. Also coming this month, the highly-anticipated Episode Two: Children of Arkham will be available to download on consoles and PC starting Sept. 20."
I’ll talk about the physical release in just a bit here, but in the meantime, check out these screens of episode 2, which comes out next Tuesday:
Next: Return To Arkham Returning This October
Ok, I feel like this physical release is misleading at best. You are paying upfront for the whole season, of which you only get one episode to start, and the rest you still have to download. And you are paying $10 more than you would digitally for a box. If I’m buying this physically, I should have the whole season already on disc. Otherwise why on earth am I buying this? I realize that’s impossible at this stage since the episodes aren’t out yet, but that probably means Telltale Games shouldn’t release the game like this. Regardless, now you can purchase the whole season in stores and episode 2 will be out next Tuesday, September 20th.
