Lego Dimensions Getting Lego Batman Expansions In February

Lego Dimensions gets a big helping of Lego Batman this February

Lego Dimensions is still rolling strong in the “Toys To Life” genre. Arguably stronger than any of the competition. I mean, Disney Infinity is dead and Skylanders seems to be hanging on by a thread, and Lego Dimensions just seems to keep pumping releases out.

And that will continue this February with Wave 8. And what’s so special about this wave for us? Well Knight Rider is a pretty cool edition, but of course more Lego Batman is what’s of interest to us.  To coincide with the release of the Lego Batman Movie, Lego Dimensions will be getting the Lego Batman Movie story pack. This will contain six new levels to explore based on the film.  The story pack also comes with Robin & Batgirl minifigs and a Batwing that can also be transformed into a Bat-Tank and Black Thunder. This story pack will also unlock a new Battle Arena with competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players.

But that’s not all the Bat-goodness you’ll be getting. There’s also the Batman Excalibur Fun Pack. This comes with its own Batman minifig and a bionic steed. The steed isn’t just your run of the mill horse though. It can also be transformed into the Bat-Raptor and Ultrabat. You can see a video of all these below:

Though it was the last out the gate, Lego Dimensions really seems to be the only game of it’s kind that is actually still thriving. I’m sure that has something to do with the fact that Legos are pretty much a major brand for all ages unto themselves. It will be interesting to see where they go from here, but as long as Warner Bros. keeps making movies and TV shows, they have a lot of possibilities. I for one can’t wait for a Live By Night story pack. Lego Dimensions is available for all current home consoles and these expansion packs are all due out in February.
