Justice League Dark will be making its debut at this year’s New York City Comic Con

A live-action version of Justice League Dark is in development for the big screen. But early next year we will get a taste of what to expect of that big screen adaptation with an animated straight-to-video version. And if you are attending this year’s New York City Comic Con, you can see some new footage as well as attend a panel on it.

The panel for the animated Justice League Dark movie will take place Saturday, October 8th. Though we’ve seen a lengthy trailer with lots of concept art and a little footage, this panel will contain the first “official” footage of the movie. In attendance at this panel will be producer James Tucker, director Jay Oliva, character designer Phil Bourassa as well as voice cast members Jason O’Mara (Batman) and Matt Ryan (Constantine).

In case you need a refresher for Justice League Dark, there are things that are out of the purview of the regular Justice League, powerful though they may be. These generally are supernatural threats, and thus need supernatural heroes. People like John Constantine, Etrigan, Zatanna, etc. (and Batman because he’s just everywhere) here is a trailer:

New York City Comic is taking place just two weeks from now from October 6th to October 9th. You can get much more information on events, premieres, guests and other things going on that weekend at the official website. There is no official release date for Justice League Dark as of yet. It will be in 2017, sometime after the Teen Titans: The Judas Contract animated movie coming early next year. It will certainly be interesting to compare this and it’s live action big screen counterpart a few years from now and see which did it better.
