Agents Of SHIELD Season 4, Episode 3 Synopsis: “Uprising”
By Steve Lam
This week on Agents of SHIELD, Coulson and the team race against time to find an ailing May.
Agents of SHIELD‘s “Meet the New Boss” episode was chock full of surprises. And the semi-twist ending had all of us holding our breaths. It was your typical Agents of SHIELD episode—excitement, adventure, and mystery.

Daisy just can’t leave things alone, as she visits Robbie Reyes, the infamous Ghost Rider, at his work. There, the subtext-filled dialogue ensued. In due time, a fight erupted: Ghost Riser vs. Quake … Round 2. Ghost Rider again got the upper-hand, but was quickly interrupted when he discovered what he was looking for.
Coulson and May finally met the new SHIELD Director, Jeffrey. The guy was every bit the politician—charming and a schmoozer. However, we soon found out that he was more than meets the eye. When May’s hallucinations start kicking in full force, Jeffrey uses his Inhuman abilities to subdue her. Oh yeah, did I mention that the new Director is actually an Inhuman?
Everything’s Connected
Things soon converged when the very same people Robbie has been looking for are the same ones causing May’s hallucinations. Robbie arrives just in time to save Fitz, while also revealing his Ghost Rider half.
At the end of the episode, we discover that Jeffrey has basically sold May out, having her shipped out, straight jacket and all, with the departing congressional touring party. I told you … he was more than meets the eye.
And Quake finally joined forces with Ghost Rider, as he admitted that all the strange, eerie activities seem to be centered around him.
