Return To Arkham Is Out For Real This Tuesday!

You can own the best version of two of the best Batman games of all time this week with Return To Arkham

I get it, remakes for games less than ten years old don’t exactly get you hyped. But I think when you look back on your collection from a previous generation of consoles, there’s only a handful of games that truly stand the test of time as something you might want to revisit. And Return To Arkham, featuring Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, collects two of them in a nice little package for you.

Return To Arkham finally comes to consoles this week after a pretty lengthy delay to hopefully fix any bugs are graphical performance issues after it’s initial Summer release was pushed back indefinitely. It features updated visuals and all previously-released DLC. Which  to my knowledge does actually include any DLC that was previously console-exclusive. I definitely remember getting Arkham Asylum on PS3 specifically for that exclusive Joker DLC, which was honestly not great. And now you can experience how not great it is on Xbox One! If you have Amazon Prime and pre-order the game you can get 20% off, which is a nice bonus.

In all honesty, this seems like something you might want to wait on. Even after the delay, a lot of people seem to be of the opinion that the graphical “upgrade” actually looks a little worse than the original game, and the remaster isn’t even being handled by Rocksteady, but Virtuous, which is a port house (though they have a pretty good track record and are handling the upcoming port of Final Fantasy XII, which I am super excited for). But if you are looking for a Batman fix, and can’t afford PlayStation VR, Return to Arkham is probably your best bet this year. But wait just a little bit, I can almost guarantee it will be at least $20 off come Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
