Ben Affleck wants to be “really confident” about the Batman script before moving forward

Ben Affleck’s Batman movie is coming closer every day! See, that’s true no matter what unless it gets canceled! But the current Batman of the DCEU has repeatedly said the movie isn’t happening until he’s really ready to go forward with it. But did Joe Manganiello, who is playing Deathstroke in the film, let slip the schedule when he recently mentioned that he would start shooting for it in the Spring?

That probably depends on how you interpret Ben’s latest answer to the question. He is currently out promoting his latest movie, The Accountant, but of course everyone wants to know how the Batman movie is coming along. Here’s the most recent answer he gave IGN:

"Last night I spent (time) working on the script. I’m in full-on ‘trying to get it right mode’. It’s not the kind of movie that you can fail quietly at. You have to really be sure that I have something that I feel really confident about before we go forward."

You can also see Ben respond to questions about fighting The Punisher (Jon Berenthal, who is Frank Castle on the Netflix Marvel shows, is also in The Accountant), working with J.K. Simmons, who is playing Commissioner Gordon in both Justice League and the upcoming Batman movie, and the possibility of co-star Anna Kendrick as Batgirl/Babara Gordon below:

Well, we are through most of October, but that does leave several months before Spring even begins. Depending on how focused he is on the script, Ben Affleck could certainly have it finished by that time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner Bros. has a whole team of people ready to start the minute that thing is finished…
