This week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Nate Heywood gains powers, and the team go up against the Shogun.

On DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s “The Justice Society of America” episode, the team met (more like “initially was confronted by”) the JSA—a secret superhero team who worked for the US government, fighting Nazis.

When the Legends discover that Commander Steel—Nate Heywood‘s grandfather—would be killed on a mission, they make their way back to 1942 Paris to help. However, the JSA didn’t take too kindly with the interference.

After some bickering, they agree to reluctantly team up. The first mission to retrieve a mythical amulet is botched—with Ray and Vixen taken hostage. Regrouping, both the Legends and the JSA agree that the two teams must work together.

During the rescue mission, Nate is gravely injured. With Ray’s help—using a serum that combined his ATOM technology with the Reverse-Flash’s meta-human formula—Nate was able to make a miraculous recovery. Though both the Legends and the JSA thought they succeeded, the final scene has the Reverse-Flash murdering Rex Tyler—essentially erasing him from his initial meeting with the Legends in “Legendary.”

This week, we’re going to see how the serum has changed Nate—which means he’ll transform into Citizen Steel. And the Legends will protect a village against the Shogum. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Shogun”

"SECRETS AND NEW FOUND POWERS — Nate (Nick Zano) is shocked to learn that he has powers but then accidentally lands himself and Ray (Brandon Routh) in Feudal Japan.  After Sara (Caity Lotz) convinces their stowaway Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), AKA Vixen, that Rory (Dominic Purcell) is not a murderer, they all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers in order to defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors.  Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) stay back to help fix the ship and find a secret compartment but decide not to tell the rest of the team what they learn"
