The Flash: Barry Allen’s Rogues Gallery Grows By Two

The Flash villains Mirror Master and Top make their debuts in “The New Rogues,” while Jesse Quick continues her speed-force training.

The Flash is known for having some dynamic villains, and two more made their appearance in “The New Rogues.” Mirror Master and Top both gained their powers from the particle accelerator explosion that granted Barry Allen his super-speed. Mirror Master can travel between the mirror dimension, while Top has vertigo powers.

I’ve always appreciated how The Flash’s opponents have powers that can counteract his superior speed. The Flash may be fast, but it’s another thing to chase a villain through mirrors and glass. Meanwhile, Top’s vertigo powers can disorient The Flash and make him dizzy.

There were a lot of humorous moments in “The New Rogues,” particularly between Barry Allen, Iris and Joe West. Who knew public displays of affection between Barry and Iris was too much for Joe to witness?

Surprisingly Harrison Wells has turned into quite the jokester in Season Three. The chemistry between Cisco Ramon and Wells has been turned up a notch. They’re in competition to see who can come up with the most pop culture references and zingers.

The budding romance between Jesse Quick and Wally West took me by surprise. It really shouldn’t have, considering the two being around the same age and possibly being future speedsters. Jesse Quick has already displayed her powers — it’s only a matter of time before Wally joins her in the post-“Flashpoint” universe. Hopefully, their love affair will continue.

I’m intrigued to learn why Caitlin Snow is hiding her freezing abilities. With so many metahumans populating Central City, along with being friends with The Flash, why hide her powers? The Earth-2 version of Killer Frost was evil, so maybe Caitlin is fearful she’s heading down the same path?
