Arrow Season 5, Episode 5 Synopsis: “Human Target”
By Steve Lam
This week on Arrow, Oliver seeks the help of friend Christopher Chance—the Human Target.
Last week on Arrow‘s “Penance” episode, Oliver and Lyla executed a plan to break Diggle out of prison. There was one huge caveat though: Diggle didn’t want to leave. He was convinced that he had to pay for killing his brother, Andy.

Well, you try preventing Oliver from doing something he’s already committed to. That’s exactly what the team did and they got the beating of their lives.
With Oliver absent, Star City was without its protector. When Church attacks the Anti-Crime Unit, it’s up to the novice team to save the day—Ragman included after Felicity speaks to him. However, Mad Dog is captured by Church when he stays behind to fight him.
After talking some sense into Diggle, Oliver successfully breaks his friend out of prison. The two make a daring air-escape (very The Dark Knight-like) when Lyla does a quick flyby.
This week, we’ll see how Wild Dog is holding up with the torture Church has been dishing out. And making his debut in the Arrow-verse is DC character Christopher Chance—the Human Target.
“Human Target”
"DC COMICS’ CHRISTOPHER CHANCE AKA HUMAN TARGET TEAMS UP WITH OLIVER — When Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman) captures and tortures one of Oliver’s new recruits, Oliver must turn to an old friend, Christopher Chance (guest star Wil Traval) AKA the Human Target, for help. Meanwhile, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) worlds collide when Detective Malone (guest star Tyler Ritter) joins the ACU."
