Dark Knight IV & V To Be Announced Soon?
An announcement on the next two chapters of the Dark Knight saga might be coming pretty soon
It took about 14 years, but Frank Miller brought back the dark world of his Dark Knight series with “The Master Race”, starting last year. The series has suffered some delays, but with issue #7 of 9 planned to hit next month, this chapter in the Dark Knight saga is winding down.
But it seems like it’ll be far from the last we see of this world anytime soon. At this weekend’s NC Comicon, artist Klaus Janson teased further stories with a fourth and fifth chapter most likely in the cards:
"As far as I know, issue nine is it. That’s where the story wraps up, but I suspect there will be a Dark Knight IV and Dark Knight V at some point."
Based on some comments Janson had about Carrie Kelley, the female Robin in the series, further chapters might not even have Bruce Wayne. These comments are about upping her role in the current story, but could certainly have implications down the line:
"Carrie is one of our favorite characters. She’s much more intelligent and less scarred than Batman. She doesn’t have all the psychological trauma Bruce has. I’m not saying she becomes Batman, but if Batman is dead then what comes next? You never know."

I think if this series was going to continue, they would probably need to really change up the status quo. Permanently making Carrie Kelley the new Caped Crusader would certainly be a way to do that. I mean, Bruce Wayne was too old to be still fighting crime in the first book, that was the whole idea. Carrying it on for several more chapters just seems ridiculous. Issue #6 Dark Knight III: The Master Race is available now with issue #7 theoretically coming out December 28th.
