By Tim Adams
Wally West is eager to stand side-by-side with The Flash, but if he gains his powers from Dr. Alchemy, will it be worth it?
Fans of The Flash only got to see Wally West suit up as Kid Flash in the “Flashpoint” alternate universe. As the episode titled “Shade” begins, Wally starts to have visions from his time as a speedster.

We all know Wally is destined to become Kid Flash, but we have to wait for his time to shine. Hopefully, the journey will be worth waiting for, especially considering all the trouble Barry causes for his friends and family.
It’s funny that Episode 6 is named “Shade,” considering how small a role the antagonist plays here. One can literally forget the puff of black smoke exists if it wasn’t for the funny date night between Joe West, District Attorney Cecile Horton, H.R. (Harrison Wells), Caitlin Snow, and Cisco Ramon.

This group setting displays many of the subplots currently running through The Flash. We have Joe/Cecile, Caitlin and Cisco’s Killer Frost dilemma, and the H.R./Cisco rivalry. The Flash‘s supporting cast has evolved so well that the show doesn’t have to rely solely on the Scarlet Speedster.

The most intriguing portion of “Shade” was the ending, as #TeamFlash used Wally to draw out Dr. Alchemy. It felt like the confrontation went by way too fast, even for someone with a connection to the Speed Force. Dr. Alchemy played to Wally’s desire to gain speed powers, and it looks like Wally fell for it. Can someone explain to me what the hell happened to Wally? Also, where did Savitar come from? We demand answers!
