The actor who played Bruce Wayne as a child in Batman Begins finds Arkham VR bring back some memories…

Thomas and Martha Wayne have died a lot of times over the years. They do it yet again in Arkham VR. There’s also been a lot of young actors playing Bruce Wayne in that scene over the years. GQ thought it would be a great idea to catch up with the one from Batman Begins, Gus Lewis and get his thoughts on the game.

"To play Batman Arkham VR, a new virtual reality game on the PlayStation 4, was a strange experience for me. In a sense, it did feel like I had stepped back onto the set. The locations and tone were fairly similar; the 360-degree vision and 3D sound, along with the ability to reach out and interact with any surrounding objects, meant I felt genuinely present in the virtual world; and the attention to detail, from the various nooks and crannies of the Batcave to a half-eaten apple discarded on an alley windowsill, gave everything an extra level of reality – one that had very much been present on the actual sets."

Of course being young boy at the time, Lewis never actually got to play the Caped Crusader. He quite enjoyed being able to put on the cape and cowl in Arkham VR however, calling it both immersive and terrifying.

It’s a pretty interesting take from a very unique perspective. You can read the full article (written by Lewis himself) to also learn about the actor working with Christopher Nolan and meeting Christian Bale even though they had no scenes together. Of course, most of these actors only play young Bruce Wayne for a couple of scenes, I’d love to get the perspective from somebody who is on a certain Fox show who has been playing him for a few years….
