Supergirl Season 2, Episode 7 Synopsis: “The Darkest Place”
By Steve Lam
This week on Supergirl, Kara goes on a mission to rescue Mon-El and runs into Cyborg Superman.
Last week, on Supergirl‘s “Changing” episode, Parasite was introduced as the latest super villain. With the Martian Manhunter out of commission, it was up to Kara to face him alone.

What about Mon-El? After being fired at CatCo, he became an enforcer for a local alien. When Kara found out, she was extremely disappointed, to say the least. However, a hard talking to by Alex, turned Mon-El’s attitude around.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the spectrum, Jimmy was ready to get his superhero game on. The hold-up was Winn trying to perfect the suit. He might be a little type-A, but he wasn’t going to let his friend go into the field with something that could leave him helpless.
As Parasite grew in strength, it went on a rampage targeting climate change deniers. Kara had her hands full, and it wasn’t just the plutonium she was carrying to overload Parasite. Luckily, Mon-El and Jimmy … ahem … Guardian came onto the scene and gave some much needed assistance.
In the end, Parasite absorbed the plutonium and was defeated. Thanking Guardian for his help, Kara asked who he was. He replied with a simple “a friend,” which was a great homage to 1978’s Superman: The Movie.
Things seemed to be looking up for Mon-El now that he’s found some purpose. However, Cadmus had other ideas. While trying to help who he thought was a homeless man, Mon-El was kidnapped by the evil organization. This week, Kara will be on a mission to rescue Mon-El, but it won’t be easy because she’ll be confronting Cyborg Superman. Here’s the official synopsis:
“The Darkest Place”
"IT’S SUPERGIRL VS. CYBORG SUPERMAN — While Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by CADMUS. While fighting to free Mon-El, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman."
