Justice League Action Premieres This December!
Justice League Action debuts on Cartoon Network in just a few weeks!
I’ll admit I didn’t think we’d see Justice League Action premiere this year. We only have a few weeks left in 2016 after all, and shows rarely premiere in November or December unless it’s on a streaming service like Netflix.
But Justice League Action will slip in just under the wire. The premiere episode will be on Cartoon Network, Friday, December 16th at 6 for both Eastern & Pacific time. Then it will move to it’s regular slot on Saturday, December 24th. As of this time we don’t know when that is.
But here is a synopsis for the premiere episode, titled “Shazam Slam”:
"In “Shazam Slam,” the villainous Black Adam battles Batman on the Rock of Eternity and unleashes a horde of Djinn determined to turn the Earth back to its pre-human, volcanic state. Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight. One by one, the Justice League – with the help of Shazam (voiced by Sean Astin) and The Wizard (voiced by Carl Reiner) – must hunt down and defeat each Djinn in order to yet again save the world from destruction."

Certainly sounds action-packed. Especially for an 11-minute episode. I still remain somewhat doubtful that these stories can be told well in 11 minutes, but hey Steven Universe manages to do it quite well, so it’s not unprecedented.
Once again Justice League Action premieres on Cartoon Network Friday, December 16th at 6 Eastern/Pacific. Then it premieres in its regular timeslot Saturday December 24th. We don’t know what that timeslot is yet though. I don’t have cable, but if I can manage to watch the premiere episode, I’ll certainly give my thoughts.
