An exclusive unboxing of Jada Toys’ Metals Die Cast 6-inch “Deadshot.”

Deadshot is one of Batman’s most formidable foes. The nickname “Man Who Never Misses” is not given lightly. Let me give you an example of how deadly he is. If Deadshot ever “misses,” it’s because it’s on purpose, and you should definitely be scared of what he really has in store for you.

More from Collectibles

Deadshot, a.k.a. Floyd Lawton, was created by David Vern Reed and Lew Schwartz, and introduced in Batman #59 (June/July 1950). He is a hired assassin and is adept at a large array of armaments. His weapons of choice are his wrist-mounted guns and sniper rifle. His first encounter with Batman was when he arrived in Gotham City, pretending to be a new hero. It’s soon revealed that he was trying to replace Batman with the eventual goal of leading Gotham’s underworld.

The character has been featured in the comics and television. Most recently, he was portrayed by Will Smith in this summer’s Suicide Squad (2016). Jada Toys’ Metals Die Cast “Suicide Squad” line’s latest offering is the 6-inch “Deadshot” figure. Bam Smack Pow has the exclusive unboxing, and like the character himself, Jada Toys doesn’t miss the target in creating another compelling collectible.

The packaging displays all the items for the “Deadshot” figure. You’ll immediately notice his iconic mask/helmet and sniper rifle. It’s another “interactive” figure that gives collectors some flexibility in how they want to display it.

Removing it from the main box, you’ll find the figure and its accessories snugly tucked into molded plastic and secured tightly by plastic wire. It’s not much of a chore to free this assassin from his housing.

As you can see, the mask/helmet comes in two pieces to allow for easy assembly onto the figure’s head. The sniper rifle is also a separate accessory.

Floyd Lawton Never Looked Better

The figure itself continues Jada Toys’ fine craftsmanship in its Metals Die Cast line. Though it’s more “cartoony” in nature, it still bears a striking resemblance to Will Smith. Turning the figure around,  you’ll notice that there’s a notch in the back for the sniper rifle.

Safety First, Even If the Word “Dead” Is in Your Name

A closer look at Deadshot’s mask/helmet reveals that it’s fully metal and also has a black plastic trim. The trim allows the two pieces to fit snugly together. Trying it out, the idea is executed perfectly. Even when it’s not on the figure’s head, the two pieces are a tight fit. The paint job on the mask/helmet is also quite impressive. The pictures don’t reveal it too well, but there’s a certain pearl-like finish to it, giving it a nice glossy sheen. The exaggerated eye piece is also well-crafted.

It’s His Only Reliable Partner

Deadshot’s trusty rusty (well, definitely not rusty) sniper rifle is a site to behold. One of the fun details I’d like to point out is the inscription on the barrel of the gun. It reads “I am the light” which is part of the favorite quote of the film’s incarnation of the character. In Suicide Squad, Deadshot’s collar and sniper rifle barrel read “I am the light, the way.”

Ready for the Mission

Assembling all the pieces, we have Deadshot in all his intimidating glory. Every piece is easily placed onto the figure. Though not overly tight, there’s a very satisfying close fit when everything comes together. Collectors don’t have to worry about any of the accessories randomly dropping to the floor.

The M116 6-Inch “Deadshot” figure is just as impressive as the character it represents. From the individual pieces, to the final assembled product, the overall collectible is fun and eye-catching. Because collector’s aren’t limited to one configuration, they can display the figure in any variation they prefer. Jada Toys has done it again with their Metals Die Cast line!
