Suicide Squad: Special Features
Go beyond the movie with this video combining the featurettes of Suicide Squad: Extended Cut
The extended cut of Suicide Squad might only feature 11 extra minutes of footage added to the film, but it also comes loaded with a lot of special features that take you into the process of making the film. Luckily, someone went and combined most if not all of the video featurettes into one handy dandy eight minute video, so if you want to check them out without buying the movie, you can do that!
This video does give a pretty interesting look into the though process behind Suicide Squad. Like that David Ayer wanted to use stunt doubles as little as possible. There’s also a somewhat extensive look at the Joker and Jared Leto and what went into that role that even in the extended cut only turned out to be less than 10 minutes of screen time.
Probably the best thing about these special features is seeing and hearing Margot Robbie say how much she loves the character of Harley Quinn and wants to do a lot more films with her because she was easily the standout of Suicide Squad. The video is edited a little jarringly but still worth a look if you are interested to know more about the film and its cast, characters and director David Ayer, check it out below:

I think at least out of pure curiosity I’d definitely like to see whatever David Ayer’s original vision for the film was. Maybe it was too dark and mostly humorless, but these featurettes seem to indicate otherwise. It might have been better than the half measure that was the result of Warner Bros. panicking and having a trailer company edit the film for its theatrical release. Suicide Squad is out now on Digital HD and on Blu-Ray and DVD December 13th.
