Justice League Dark: The Team Doesn’t Get Along
The members of Justice League Dark aren’t just one big happy family of heroes
The Justice League is more than just a team, they are family. They have formed true bonds of friendship. The hang out, hell some of them spend holidays together. The same cannot be said for the members of Justice League Dark. They’ll work together to save the world, but they mostly just hate each other.
Justice League Dark director Jay Olivia explains the team’s dynamic, or lack thereof:
"What’s funny is that, now that I look back at the Dark movie, nobody likes Constantine. Constantine kind of rubs everybody the wrong way, and like I said, he’s like a honey badger, he gives zero fucks. It’s funny, because he’s the integral part of the team, but nobody likes him. Hell, even Zatanna doesn’t really like him. She just tolerates him now. It’s actually good for a group dynamic. In the Justice League, they’re all friends. Nobody gets into arguments, really, but with Dark, it’s nice because they all don’t really like each other. They don’t hang out at each other’s apartments afterwards, you know? They do their job and do their thing, they know that they’re all integral parts to the whole, and without them the world would basically not exist, but they’re all such strong personalities. They’re all butting heads in a sense, but they end up coming together and doing what’s right and protecting our souls from things that are out there that we don’t even know exist."

It’s actually a fairly mature take for a comic book movie. The members of Justice League Dark don’t really like each, but it doesn’t deal with that bull of will they be able to get along long enough to try and save the world? Sure, just don’t expect them to grab shawurma together afterwards. Justice League Dark is out on Digital HD January 24th and Blu-Ray and DVD February 7th.
