Agents Of SHIELD Season 4, Episode 7 Synopsis: “Deals With Our Devils”
By Steve Lam
This week on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, the team races to find the whereabouts of their lost comrades.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD‘s “The Good Samaritan” episode left us on quite the cliffhanger. We got an origin for Ghost Rider (well, this version), and a shocking twist at the end.

Tensions were brewing between Jeffrey and Coulson. They got so bad that Jeffrey eventually told Coulson to call him “Director Mace.” Yeah, it’s not a good sign when your boss takes away the first-name-basis privilege. However, the fate of the world forced Director Mace (look, no I’m doing it too) to listen to Coulson and use Ghost Rider and Quake to stop Lucy’s plan in using the Darkhold.
When the team reaches the Roxxon plant, they discover that Eli was the mastermind behind everything. He wanted Lucy to think she was in control, when, in fact, he let her take him hostage. Why? So that he can gain power over matter.
In a flashback, we learn that Eli didn’t want to stop the experiments, he wanted the Darkhold so that he could take over everything.
Meanwhile, Robbie had a personal battle—telling his little brother, Gabriel, how he became Ghost Rider. The tale is fascinating as it is tragic, and we get our first glimpses of the original Ghost Rider—Johnny Blaze—who was also the source of Robbie’s current state.
The episode ends with Coulson, Fitz, and Robbie disappearing in a flash of light after Eli activates his machine. Eli later emerges from the chamber and quickly shows off his newly acquired abilities.
This week marks the return of our beloved “rebels” (inside joke to those who watched “The Good Samaritan”) after their month-long hiatus. Well, see what happened to Coulson, Fitz, and Robbie (there’s no way they could be dead). And we’ll see what Eli has in store for the world. Here’s the official synopsis:
