The Flash Season 3, Episode 8 Synopsis: “Invasion!”
By Steve Lam
This week, The Flash continues The CW’s massive DC TV crossover event!
On The Flash‘s “Killer Frost” episode last week, Caitlyn embraced her dark side and went on a rampage—seeking Doctor Alchemy and taking Julian hostage to do it. Meanwhile, the team waited helplessly while Wally West was encased in a cocoon from Doctor Alchemy’s doing.

Yep, Caitlyn showed her icy disposition when she put the blame of her current predicament on Barry’s Flashpoint activities. She also went as far as revealing to Cisco that his brother was alive and well in the timeline before Flashpoint. This definitely put a strain on things.
As Caitlyn embraced her inner Killer Frost, she went on the hunt for Doctor Alchemy—thinking that he was the only who could help her. Along the way, she takes Julian hostage, hoping that he had a way of tracking down the powerful villain.
Team Flash didn’t just have Killer Frost to deal with, they also didn’t know what was happening to Wally—after he became encased in a cocoon at the end of “Shade.” Joe West, being the concerned father that he is, took it upon himself to free Wally—prematurely. Wally emerged, but ran off to an unknown location.
After the team captured Caitlyn, Barry makes a deal with her—he’ll let her go free if she kills him. Caitlyn discovered that she was unable to and her care for Barry overrode any hate that was in Killer Frost’s cold heart (pun intended). Returning to normal, Caitlyn developed a formula that would bring Wally’s mind back.
Joe and Barry finally tracked Wally to his childhood home, a place of comfort, and inoculated him. With speedster powers, Wally was set and ready to become a hero. Of course, Joe has his reservations, as he should, being a caring father.
This week, The Dominators will invade Earth and Barry and Cisco go to Supergirl’s Earth to get her help. However, a secret is revealed from Flashpoint and the team becomes wary of each other. Here’s the official synopsis.
“Invasion!”
"IT’S HEROES VS. ALIENS IN THIS EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT — When aliens called the Dominators attack Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) speeds over to Star City to ask the Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) for help in stopping them. Realizing the battle against the Dominators is bigger than they thought, they track down the Legends of Tomorrow, and Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) create a breach to bring back a secret weapon – Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist). Once all of the super friends are assembled, they come up with a plan to attack but a shocking secret related to Flashpoint is revealed and suddenly no one is sure who they can trust. Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to join the battle against the aliens but Iris (Candice Patton) tells him he’s not ready."
