Gotham: Bruce & Selina’s Kiss
Selina & Bruce’s relationship took a step on Gotham
Even under the most ideal circumstances, relationships can be a super tricky thing. This is especially true in Gotham, and I think it goes to a whole new level of difficulty when it comes to future DC icons Selina Kyle & Bruce Wayne. They’ve been tiptoeing around being a relationship since season two really.
And even in season 3, when Bruce made his feelings for Selina clear and she returned those feelings, Selina was still reluctant to put any labels on what they had such as calling Bruce her “boyfriend”. But with the couple venturing into mortal danger yet again during last night’s mid-season finale of Gotham, a kiss seemed to imply that she’s ready for this to be an actual relationship. Camren Bicondova talked about the kiss and what it meant:
"That scene was a very crucial scene for Selina because she had a feeling going into the mission that it was not a good idea, that there was a higher possibility of them dying than them succeeding,” Bicondova said. “So when she kissed him, it was like, ‘Well, here we go! If we did, I just wanted you to know that I like you a lot, but this may be the last time you see me.’ But it foreshadows the dynamic between Catwoman and Batman, that Selina will always do her own thing but she’ll always have feelings for Bruce, and it will always be that struggle between them of them being from opposite worlds."

Of course, admitting that Bruce is her boyfriend and actually investing in the relationship hardly means that it’s happy times ahead for the couple. In fact, with Selina’s mother back in the picture, these two people’s diverging paths, and Gotham being well Gotham, it’s still likely going to be a rocky go for these two. After all, if Bruce Wayne could find happiness with Selina Kyle, he probably wouldn’t become Batman…
