Twitter Indicates Armie Hammer Is Probably In A DCEU Film

Recent Twitter activity might mean Armie Hammer has a role in an upcoming DC movie…

Here we go again. Just a little while ago, Twitter detectives surmised that John Cleese has a role in an upcoming DCEU film because he was suddenly followed by certain accounts on Twitter. This hasn’t been proven or disproven as yet. But following that same line of logic, it would appear that Armie Hammer might be cast in a role in an upcoming DCEU movie as well.

Armie Hammer almost started off a whole new DCEU universe himself. He was originally all set to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the George Miller-directed Justice League Mortal. That film fell victim to the writer’s strike and was never made (though there’s a documentary being made about the film going by the same name).

Hammer was recently followed on Twitter by Geoff Johns, co-head of DC Films. That would be enough to spur plenty of speculation right there. But he was also followed by Joe Manganiello, who of course if playing Deathstroke in the Batman movie. This seems to make the most likely movie that Hammer has been cast for to be Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film. But could he be appearing in any others? of course that all depends on what role he gets.

Of course, this is wild speculation based on some Twitter activity, but it sure is fun. If Armie Hammer is in the Batman movie, two roles instantly come to mind. One would be Jean Paul Valley aka Azrael. Azrael actually filled in for Batman after Bane broke his back. This would be a pretty cool nod to the fact that Hammer almost was Batman.

The other role, one with far more possibilities is Jason Todd, aka the Red Hood. Hammer is about the right age, and I think he pull off the role incredibly well. He’s always seemed right on the brink of big stardom, and a good performance could catapult him into his own film franchise. Armie Hammer headlining a Red Hood & The Outlaws movie in 5 years? I’m in!
