Suicide Squad co-stars Jai Courtney and Margot Robbie had a “tattoo bet”

The cast of Suicide Squad seems to be pretty fond of tattoos. Their characters are all sporting them, and they even gave each other some on set. Jai Courtney, who played Captain Boomerang, and Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn, even had a bet where the loser would have to get a tattoo.

Courtney was telling the story about this bet on a recent episode of Conan O’Brien’s TBS late night talk show:

"We had a bet about a rugby game. It’s like an age-old rivalry. The state where I’m from, New South Wales, plays the state where she’s from, Queensland. I foolishly suggested that whoever came out on top of the series was able to tattoo the other person. She (Robbie) carries around a tattoo gun. I sort of neglected to remember that my team were at the end of a seven-year losing streak."

So Jai Courtney lost the bet, and Margot Robbie gave him a tattoo of her home team on his wrist. You can watch Courtney tell the story to Conan and see the tattoo in the video below:

Well, it’s not a good tattoo, but it’s a pretty small one, so it’s easily covered up, possibly in the future with a much better tattoo. The lesson here is you should probably never make a tattoo bet in the first place. But if you do, make sure a professional tattoo artist does the job, not somebody who just carries around a tattoo gun for the hell of it. Suicide Squad is out now on Digital HD, and will be out on Blu-Ray and DVD December 13th. Be sure to look for our review of the Extended Cut around that time.
