Gotham: Jerome To Have New 52-inspired Look?
Gotham’s proto-Joker may have a different look when he returns!
Jerome Valeska is the closest thing Batman prequel series Gotham has had to a Joker-esque character. And much like the Joker, it takes more than being brutally killed to keep a good psychopath down.
It’s been established that Jerome is returning to Gotham when the show returns from hiatus in January. But will he be the same Jerome? Will he have any kind of weird powers like many of the individuals who were experimented on in the Indian Hill facility? Will he even look the same?
If a recent post is to be believed, Jerome might be basically unrecognizable upon his return:
Now the picture was apparently uploaded by Cameron Monaghan, but was quickly removed. What it seems to imply is that Jerome’s face is extremely messed up. How or why that happened, we obviously have no idea yet. But what it might be an allusion to is the version of the Joker in DC’s New 52 era that just recently ended before the Rebirth event/reboot several months ago. In the New 52, The Joker’s face was cut off by the Doll Maker. However, Joker continued to wear the skin of his face as a mask. It was pretty gross. Though that’s better than a woman finding his cut off face, deciding to wear it and calling herself “Joker’s Daughter” (yes that happened).

If true, does this mean that they are coming closer to Jerome just officially becoming The Joker on Gotham? Or is he merely a pre-cursor to the Clown Prince of Crime himself? We’ll just have to see when the show returns in January on Fox!
