This week on The Flash’s mid-season finale, a determined Barry will go to Earth-3 and seek Jay Garrick’s help in stopping Savitar and Doctor Alchemy.

Last week on The Flash‘s “Invasion!” episode, Barry teamed up with the Green Arrow, Supergirl, and the Legends to stop the Dominators from exterminating Earth’s metahumans. This week, we’re back to our Scarlet Speedsters ongoing battle with Savitar and Doctor Alchemy.

More from TV

Before the massive crossover event, Barry went to battle with Doctor Alchemy—who was transforming specific people into their metahuman counterparts from Flashpoint. One of these people was Wally. In trying to hunt down Doctor Alchemy, the team discovers that there’s an even bigger threat—Savitar, the God of Speed.

Wally, now gaining speedster abilities and becoming Kid Flash, wanted to go right into action. However, the team purposely stalled him to keep him safe. Wally, headstrong as ever, didn’t care and sought the help of H.R., who soon gladly obliged.

Caitlin, who had already started to transform, briefly embraced her Killer Frost side. With Barry’s help and unwavering show of faith, Caitlin was brought back. Albeit she now needs to continuously suppress her abilities in order to prevent the villain from emerging.

Caitlin’s transformation and brief stint as a baddie wasn’t without consequences. Julian used his eye-witness account to blackmail Barry into stepping down from the CCPD forensics unit. And that’s not the only dastardly thing about Julian—he was revealed as Doctor Alchemy.

This week’s mid-season finale promises to up the speedster ante when Earth-3’s Flash, Jay Garrick, is brought in to help Barry with his Savitar problem. Also, will Wally have his debut as Kid Flash? We’ll just have to find out on Tuesday. Check out the official synopsis:

“The Present”

"BARRY SEEKS HELP FROM JAY GARRICK — With Alchemy and Savitar still looming threats, Barry (Grant Gustin) is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he’s been training with H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), which doesn’t go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened."
