Zack Snyder Makes Amazing Star Wars/Batman v Superman Mashup

Why yes, Batman v Superman would have been better with lightsabers as Zack Snyder proves in this BvS/Star Wars mashup trailer

Fan trailers and movies mashing up Batman v Superman and Star Wars aren’t anything new. But what about when a professional director takes a crack at it? What about when it’s the director of Batman v Superman himself, Zack Snyder?

Zack Snyder is a longtime fan of Jedis and galaxies far, far away. Even during the hype train for Batman v Superman, he was posting mashup pictures showing things such as Henry Cavill’s Superman with a lightsaber.

Now Snyder has put out a fan trailer, one he made himself, combining the Batman v Superman trailer with Star Wars elements. This was both to celebrate the upcoming release of Rogue One and promote a new app called “Vero”. Maybe Snyder isn’t a great director, but man this video looks incredibly seamless, showing the real difference when a professional director who has made big budget extravaganzas decides to make a mashup trailer as opposed to a talented amateur. Next: Marvel Mocks Batman v Superman. Again...

Even if you don’t like Zack Snyder or Batman v Superman, that is a very well put together trailer. My one complaint would be too many quotes being used. Less is more Zack. But also, the premise of this trailer, that Batman is a Sith and trying to turn Superman (or kill him if he can’t) is far more believable than the actual plot of Batman v Superman. Like you can see Batman giving in and going all dark side, and then Superman is able to redeem him even though Batman is trying to turn him. Maybe if Disney does eventually buy Warner Bros. or just DC they should give this premise a shot with Zack Snyder behind the helm…
