Jackie Earle Haley Joining The DCEU?

Jackie Earle Haley might be joining the DCEU if recent Twitter activity is any indication…

Is this just going to be a weekly thing now? First, it was John Cleese. Then Armie Hammer. Now, thanks to some recent Twitter activity, people are speculating that Jackie Earle Haley is joining the DCEU in some capacity…

Jackie Earle Haley, probably best known at this point for his portrayal as Rorschach in the Zack Snyder-directed Watchmen movie, was recently followed on Twitter by Geoff Johns, co-head of DC films. Now, this is the third time something like this has happened (the other two being Cleese and Hammer), but so far nothing has really panned out. Nothing has been denied, and in fact Armie Hammer & John Manganiello have been trolling fans about Hammer’s possible casting in a DCEU film, but nothing’s been confirmed either. So this may or may not be something, and we don’t even know what role or movie it could be for…

But hey, it’s fun to speculate, so let’s go ahead and do that! I think there’s a number of cool roles Jackie Earle Haley could be a good fit for. The mot obvious would be The Question. One of the more famous versions of The Question is heavily based on Watchmen’s Rorschach, so that would make a lot of sense, and even possibly work in something like Dark Universe, the upcoming live-action Justice League Dark Movie. Speaking of which, he would be a good contender for the big screen version of Constantine as well. If we are going the villain route, there’s a large number of those I think he could work as. Captain Cold, Two-Face & The Trickster all seem like good fits for example.

There is one more out of left field idea though. The Watchmen have been folded into the DC Universe as part of Rebirth, under this line of reasoning, he could just be Rorschach, which I think would be crazy and awesome. Note that has like a .01% chance of happening though. We’ll see if this or any of the recent Twitter activity goes anywhere…
