Harley Quinn: Champion Of The Universe & Earth’s Savior?

How did Harley Quinn become champion of the universe and save the earth?

Back in 1978 the alien race known as the Scrubb came to challenge the champion of Earth. It was determined that it would either be Superman or the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammed Ali, but they had to face off against each other in order to determine who would win and face the Scrubb’s own champion. Ali won that contest and went on to defeat the Scrubb’s champion and save the Earth. Obviously the story is a lot more complicated than that, but it’s the gist.

Now nearly 40 years later the Scrubb have returned again, but Muhammed Ali has passed away, so there is no current champion. A new one must be chosen to once again save the earth. Well apparently for some reason it’s now between Superman and Harley Quinn, of all people, and so starts Harley’s Little Black Book #5:

How does Harley Quinn even stand a chance against the Man of Steel? Well, Superman loses his super strength, so its on even ground:

Superman is no pushover even without powers. But Harley Quinn has no powers and has spent most of her adult life clobbering people, When it gets to the actual match between the two, Harley Quinn is just decimating the Last Son of Krypton:

After the match, Superman does manage to recover and destroys the Scrubb armada threatening Earth. He was probably worried that Harley might not fare so well against Hun’ka, the Scrubb’s champion. But it turns out Supes didn’t have to worry, as Harley Quinn defeats Hun’ka, thereby becoming the champion of the universe and saving the Earth from the Scrubb!
