Final Round-Up

This month’s “X-Men” box was very impressive. The customary pin and patch are always well-designed. However, Funko really outdid themselves with a fun vintage t-shirt and two figures!

The Mystique figure was beautifully designed with vivid colors with an equally eye-catching box. However, the Wolverine figure is where Funko really put in the “wow” factor. The figure and motorcycle were filled to the brim with fun details and truly captured the essence of everyone’s favorite tough-guy X-Man!

Still not convinced that this is a great box? Due to the items being exclusive and unique to this offering, we’re going to do a theoretical breakdown in price using comparable items found on Ebay and the online Pop Price Guide:

  • “Storm” Patch: $4.00–$7.00
  • “Magneto Helmet” Pin: $4.00–$5.00
  • Champions #1 Variant Edition Comic Book: $2.99
  • “Xavier’s School” Ringer T-Shirt: $15.00–$25.00
  • “Storm” Rock Candy: $10.00
  • “Wolverine’s Motorcycle” Exclusive Pop!: $25.00–$33.00

Using the lower-end of the pricing, all items add up to be $60.99. Note that the value of the Pop! figure could potentially go up due to a sudden upshot of popularity with Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine in the upcoming Logan. Knowing Jackman’s past enthusiastic performance in the X-Men movies, I have a strong feeling that we have a collector’s item on our hands.

Jealous yet? This box definitely had no fluff and each item was definitely one-of-a-kind. Even if they don’t go up in price, they’re still impressive nonetheless. As collectors, we don’t collect for money—what’s the fun in that? We hold on to items due to their intrinsic value and the emotions they invoke in us. I can definitely say that these items made me feel like a kid again and they came at the perfect time—during the holidays!
