DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2, Episode 9 Synopsis: “Raiders Of The Lost Art”
By Steve Lam
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns from its mid-season hiatus with the team trying to help Rip regain his lost memories.
Our favorite former Time Master and Legends leader has been missing since the first episode of Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow. Even though that large command gap has been filled by the very capable Sara, everyone still wants their friend and captain back.

This week, Rip fans get their wish. However, he won’t be quite the Rip everyone’s use to. In the end scene of the mid-season finale “The Chicago Way,” Rip made an appearance as a dorky, scruffy director in 1967 with a very distinctive America accent. Obviously something went wrong when he escaped the Waverider. So we’ll soon be getting an explanation for his change in personality and how he got away.
Let’s not forget our friends … er … enemies—Damien Darkh, Malcolm Merlyn, and Eobard Thawne. The Trio of Terror, the Trifecta of Evil … okay, I’ll stop beating around the bush—the Legion of Doom! Sara may hate the name, but it’s a must. Those dastardly three are still up to some plan of ultimate no good—which involves finding the Spear of Destiny, giving them the power to rewrite reality.
This week, the time-jumping battle continues with the search for Rip. Let’s hope the team can convince him of who he really is before it’s too late. Here’s the official synopsis:
“Raiders of the Lost Art”
"LOST MEMORIES — When Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (guest star John Barrowman) try to capture Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in 1967, they create an Aberration big enough to draw the attention of the Legends. However, when the team arrives they discover that Rip has no memories of his past due to “time drift” and is just a graduate film student. After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray (Bradon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano) realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) asks Stein (Victor Garber) for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team."
