This week on Supergirl, Livewire escapes and Mon-El helps Kara in recapturing her.

Supergirl returned from its winter hiatus last week with “Supergirl Lives.” While helping to find a missing girl, both Kara and Mon-El become trapped on a slave-trading planet that orbits a red sun—rendering them both powerless.

More from TV

“Supergril Lives” started off with Kara going up against some rocket-launching bad guys. She soon gets some unwanted assistance from new National City vigilante/hero Guardian (a.k.a. Jimmy Olsen).

As one suspect escaped, Guardian asked his wingman, Winn, for some assistance. Winn knocked the suspect out, but as the baddie regained consciousness, Winn found himself staring down at the barrel of a gun. To say “Winn was shaken” is a total understatement.

Back in Kara’s life as a reporter, she learned that a girl has gone missing. Promising the grieving mother that she’ll find her, Kara and Mon-El pose as a couple and looked into a facility that was the last place visited by other missing persons.

The two soon discover that the facility housed a portal, transporting abductees to an alien planet. Kara and Mon-El travel through the portal and quickly learn that they have no powers due to a red sun.

The two are able to locate the kidnap victims and form an escape plan. Meanwhile, Jonn sends Alex, a nervous Winn, and a team of DEO agents through the portal on a rescue mission. Everyone gets home safely and Winn regains his confidence after defending the portal and taking out an evil alien.

This week, Mon-El starts his superhero training with Kara. Their first mission is to recapture an escaped Livewire. And Jimmy will reveal to Kara his vigilante activities as Guardian. Here’s the official synopsis:

“We Can Be Heroes”

"LIVEWIRE IS SET LOOSE UPON CENTRAL CITY — After Livewire (guest star Brit Morgan) seemingly breaks out of prison, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is intent on recapturing her. After training Mon-El (Chris Wood), Supergirl takes him with her when she sees Livewire attack the NCPD but things go awry when Mon-El puts Supergirl before the citizens of National City. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) decides to come clean with Kara, and M’Gann (guest star Sharon Leal) has a psychic attack and collapses into a coma."
