Agents Of SHIELD Season 4, Episode 12 Synopsis: “Hot Potato Soup”

This week on Agents of SHIELD, the Koenig brothers are back and they’re tasked with hiding the Darkhold.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD‘s “Wake Up” episode had Melinda May trying to escape the clutches of Aida and Radcliffe. Meanwhile, Coulson and the rest of SHIELD take advantage of an opportunity to spy on Senator Nadeer.

May’s dream state has finally been adjusted to give her a new “normal”—one that involves conflict. Leave it to May to be the one who thrives in an environment that involves fighting and action.

After freeing herself, May briefly battles Aida and disables her. May quickly moves up the vast stairwell towards an exit, but soon finds Aida, recovered, standing in her way. It’s another fight to the death, with the end result of Aida plunging over the balcony. A win for May? Not even. The whole thing was a simulation. However, Aida does admit that May is getting better and faster at it. If I’ve learned one thing, do not underestimate this agent.

With the rest of SHIELD is still blind to android-May, they used Daisy’s Sokovia Accords signing as a way to gain access to Senator Nadeer’s office to bug it. Well, this politician didn’t rise to power without some underhanded techniques. She had a mole inside of SHIELD, which allowed her to put in place some countermeasures. Now SHIELD is under investigation.

And let’s not forget about Fitz’s “obsession” with Aida, which turned out to be an investigation. His keen research uncovered the fact that Radcliffe’s program was what corrupted Aida, not the Darkhold. After taking Radcliffe into custody, Fitz realized that they arrested his LMD instead. Back to square one.

This week, the fan-favorite Koenig brothers make their return and are tasked with the very important mission of keeping the Darkhold secure. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Hot Potato Soup”

"Agents Sam and Billy Koenig (Patton Oswalt) are hunted down to get at the Darkhold book, and only Coulson and the team can save them before the clock ticks out, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network."
