This week on Legion, David takes a look at his past.

Last week on Legion‘s “Chapter 1” episode, fans were introduced to the mind-bending, harrowing world of David Haller—Professor Charles Xavier’s son. Captured by a nefarious organization trying to exploit his powers, David escaped with the aid of a new band of mutants.

The first episode was visually stunning with well-developed characters and a very unconventional plot. David, confined to an institution, is given pills, numbing his powerful telekinetic abilities. When he takes a liking to a new resident, Sydney Barrett, the two form an inseparable bond.

On the day Sydney leaves, David gives her a kiss. Due to that contact and Sydney’s own abilities, the two swap minds. He soon finds himself confined in an interrogation room, not trusting the people around him.

As a remnant of Sydney guides him to his freedom, David learns that he isn’t insane or suffering from schizophrenia. In fact, he’s a powerful mutant—one of the most powerful—and people are after him to use him as a weapon.

Fortunately, Sydney and her band of friends help David escape the organization’s makeshift prison. Outside, David questions if this is in fact reality. Sydney reassures him that it is, and that he can trust them.

This week, we learn more about David and his past. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Chapter 2”
