Legion is getting crazier than ever with its unconventional narrative. It’s surprising how our resident recap specialist, Christina, can keep things straight in her articles. And for that, I do tip my hat to her. It’s not an easy job, but it seems like she has fun with it.
We start off with David, fresh from beaming himself and the MRI machine outside. Ptolomy, the dream artist, needs to explore David’s memories further. David reluctantly agrees, and also tries to agree to not damage anything else.
The memories are freaky and David explores “triggers” to his telekinetic powers. At one point, David transports himself to his sister’s interrogation. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that Amy is now in the clutches of Division 3? David’s presence in the room isn’t physical, but seen more as an astral projection. However, Division 3’s own mutant detects David. Uh oh, there goes the team’s surprise rescue—if they ever have one.
The trip down memory lane only proved one thing: David still has his defenses up. Melanie finally suggests sedating David. Thereby, lowering his guard and getting to the truth of the matter. The team soon find themselves in David’s memories again, but he’s represented as his childhood self—in a way, the true David.
As Melanie follows David to his home, she finds the creepy “The World’s Angriest Boy in the World” book. Distracted by the book’s disturbing narrative, the blob-like, yellow-eyed demon lurks behind her. With the book slamming shut by itself and maiming her hand, Melanie wakes up screaming. In real life, her hand is fine. However, David cannot be shaken from his sleep.
This week, Melanie and the team race to save David from the labyrinth of his own mind, and confront David’s hidden fear. Here’s the official synopsis from FX Networks:
“Chapter 4”
