In 2014, the world fell in love with Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. The misfit group of galactic superheroes were an obscure bunch. Marvel Studios’ initial teasers and trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy were met with some head scratches from audiences. However, after its release, the film was met with critical and box office acclaim—leading to another surge in profits (it also made it to our Greatest Superhero Stories list).
After almost three years of waiting, rabid fans will be able to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when it hits theaters on May 5, 2017. This time, everybody will be familiar with these characters, and watching them on the silver screen will be like greeting a group of old friends.
To celebrate this highly anticipated sequel, Funko’s Collector Corps brings us an appropriately themed box filled with goodies based on the film. What better way to entice fans than to use Baby Groot’s face. The box prominently shows the adorable sapling’s smiling visage. And, to note, this is a large box. Whoever said, “Good things come in small packages, ” never experienced Funko.
