This week on The Flash, Barry travels to the future to find a way to save Iris.

This week, The Flash returns from its month-long hiatus. In “Abra Kadabra,” the last episode before The CW put a pause on the show, viewers saw Barry give up the chance to find out Savitar’s true identity. And that’s not all. Caitlin’s worst fears came true—she became Killer Frost.

Team Flash is alerted to the villain-of-the-week—Abra Kadabra. When they finally catch the thief, he tells them that he knows Savitar’s true identity and would trade that knowledge in exchange for his freedom.

However, Gypsy wants to extradite him back to Earth-19 to stand trial and, ultimately, executed. In a moment of weakness, Joe West agrees to Abra Kadabra’s deal. In the ensuing fight between Gypsy and Abra Kadabra, Caitlin is critically injured.

The team later learns that Abra Kadabra is stealing tech to build a time machine to return home. The Flash intercepts Abra Kadabra and eventually makes the decision to hand him over to Gypsy.

Caitlin, recovering from self-surgery, suddenly starts to seize. Julian removes her anti-metahuman pendant in the hopes that her powers would take over and heal her. However, Caitlin still dies. As the team is reeling from their loss, Caitlin is suddenly revived and transformed into Killer Frost.

This week, we’ll be seeing Barry travel to the future (has the man learned nothing?) to find a way to save Iris. And we’ll also learn how far gone Caitlin is after years of being Killer Frost. Here’s the official synopsis from The CW:

“The Once and Future Flash”
