As Her Cape takes flight, your friendly neighborhood editor wants to introduce herself and welcome everyone to the Her Cape community.

I am so happy to be here with you all for the launch of HerCape.com, a site dedicated to all of the amazing female superheroes and their villainous counterparts that we love. Whether it’s comics, cosplay, movies, or television, we’re going to cover them all right here in one spot. And the sky is the limit!

With the launch of Her Cape I thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself. My name is Sarabeth Pollock. I am a lifelong pop culture fan. From Star Trek to Batman, Star Wars to Star-Lord, and all-things Disney and Disneyland, I love it all. I love attending comic conventions (San Diego Comic Con is my home base) and I love bringing all of the excitement to my readers, so you can expect to see lots of con and cosplay coverage.

This is an exciting time for female characters in pop culture and they deserve a proper home where they can be celebrated. Gamora is back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Wonder Woman arrives in theaters in June 2017 to kick off a new era for female superheroes in film, while Harley Quinn continues to keep things fun in the world of comics. Those are just a few of the many female heroines and villains in pop culture, and Her Cape is dedicated to them all.

One thing that is very important for me to note is that Her Cape is for all fans. That’s the best thing about pop culture fandoms – they embrace everyone and everyone is welcome in our community. While the majority of the stories Her Cape covers will revolve around female characters, this is a site for men and women to celebrate their fandom with other fans who share their passion.

So welcome to Her Cape, everyone, and thank you for joining us on this journey. Be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter so you can join in the discussion!
