A new X-Men television show is officially coming to Fox!

More from TV

FX’s Legion created a significant presence for the X-Men on TV, and it was only the beginning. Last year, a new X-Men drama from Matt Nix and Bryan Singer was announced for Fox, and a pilot was later ordered. Now, it looks like the show has officially gotten the green light.

Outlets like Deadline are reporting that The Gifted has been given a series order by Fox. Although an episode count for the first season has not been given, the show is currently slated to air this fall. In addition to the announcement, Fox has also released a teaser trailer for the series. The sneak peek showcased a few scenes from the show, and promised a full trailer on May 15, 2017.

The new series centers on a couple, who must go underground after their children begin to exhibit mutant abilities, and along the way, they’ll encounter a variety of other mutants.

To say that this has been one of the most anticipated superhero television shows would be an understatement. The X-Men have always been popular with comic fans, but they have also gained a strong following with general audiences through the films.

The premise of the show is very interesting, and should provide us with a fresh take on the X-Men universe just as Legion did. And with Matt Nix and Bryan Singer behind the project, this is sure to be a show that fans won’t want to miss.
