Wonder Woman gets strong reviews, 97% on Rotten Tomatoes
It’s rare when reviewers strongly agree about a movie, but Wonder Woman reviews are coming in, and the movie is nearing a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
With the review embargo lifted, reviews are pouring in for Wonder Woman and they are overwhelmingly positive.
If you want to use Rotten Tomatoes as a guide, Wonder Woman is nearing a perfect score as of this posting, with a 97% Fresh rating. That number is based upon the 36 available reviews. 35 reviews are Fresh while one review comes in under the Rotten category.
Steve Rose of the Guardian is the sole dissenter in the overwhelming wave of positive reviews. Here’s what he had to say: “Gal Gadot is entirely credible as the embodiment of Amazonian perfection, but there’s only so much emotion her concerted brow-furrowing can convey.” That review landed a 2 out of 5 stars.
Aside from Mr. Rose, the other reviews are incredible positive. Here’s a look at what some reviewers had to say:
Conner Schwerdtfeger, CinemaBlend.com: “Diana Prince’s solo film easily stands out as the best DC film since The Dark Knight, and Wonder Woman is a sign of great things to come in the DC Extended Universe.
Angie Han, Mashable: “If Gal Gadot’s all-too brief appearance in Batman v Superman was promising, she fulfills that potential and then some in Wonder Woman.”
Lindsey Bahr, Associated Press: “Like the heroine at its center, Wonder Woman the movie rises with powerful grace above the noise. It’s not perfect, but it’s often good, sometimes great and exceptionally re-watchable.”
Based upon these early reviews, Wonder Woman is the movie we hoped it would be. There are more reviews to read, but they all seem to agree that Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins have achieved their goals to bring Diana Prince to life.
