San Diego Comic Con kicks off on July 20 and there is a lot to do to get ready for the big event. Her Cape has the top 100 Things to Know About SDCC.

The pop culture event of the year is fast approaching, and in just over a month the madness that is San Diego Comic Con will descend upon San Diego and take over the city for almost an entire week. While the actual dates are July 20-23 (excluding Preview Night on July 19), SDCC starts taking over Downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp Quarter well before then. Her Cape will bring you everything you need to know about San Diego Comic Con over the next few weeks, brought to you by yours truly, a San Diego native and SDCC attendee for over a decade. (Yeah, my family was going to SDCC before it was cool)

I want to give you the insiders look at what to do, what to see, what to expect, and how to make the most of your SDCC experience from a local’s perspective, so we’re counting down the top 100 things you need to know.

But fear not — this guide will be just as helpful to those of you who won’t be able to attend in person. Not only are there offsite events for people without badges (if you happen to be in the San Diego area) but you can stream many of the big panels in Hall H from the comfort of your own home.

As we get closer to SDCC 2017 Her Cape will bring you more details about panels, screenings, offsites, and event-specific things that you need to know. For now, we’re going to talk bigger picture. We’re talking strategy, restaurants, places to go, how to get around, and all of the things you need to know to get ready for one of the most fun — and most exhausting — events of the year.
