Spider-Man: Homecoming is one of the most anticipated superhero movies for summer 2017. Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Funko is dedicating a box to this upcoming film.
Since the web-slinger’s introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Captain America: Civil War (2016), audiences couldn’t get enough of him. Fans of Spidey were initially apprehensive, but they knew to trust Kevin Feige—and their trust paid off.
The MCU’s Peter Parker / Spider-Man was straight out of the comics—wise-cracking, funny, nerdy, and a fanboy at heart. Gone were the days of the gloomy Peter who seemed like he had no joy in crime-fighting. Let’s also not forget the fact that before Tom Holland, every actor who played the web-head was also 30-plus years old.
Funko definitely keeps it young—and unique—by creating a box that gives focus on Peter’s pre-Tony-Stark-makeover look. Looking at the box, you can see our hero’s proto-Spider-Man uniform—very homemade with a hoodie and spare parts.
