Funko DC Legion of Collectors – July 2017 “Batman: The Animated Series” unboxing

The Details!
Legion of Collectors “Batman: The Animated Series” Patch and Pin
The Joker from Batman: The Animated Series is sometimes held as the gold standard incarnation for the Clown Prince of Crime. Much of the credit for this haunting characterization goes to Mark Hamill. The patch seen here creatively captures the Joker’s visage, which is accented by a backdrop made of fanned out playing cards. It couldn’t be more perfect.
The Catwoman pin shows the anti-heroine just as she was in the cartoon. Looking closely, you’ll see that her backdrop is a large diamond — always a girl’s best friend. The color is muted, which perfectly represents the Dark Deco-nature of the series.
Legion of Collectors “Batman: The Animated Series” Packing Slip
The packing manifest shows how this month’s box was created. It’s always interesting to see a product go from inception to completion — especially the figure sculpts. The manifest is also peppered with various facts and tidbits of information.
Flipping it over, we have an advertisement for September 2017’s Legion of Collector’s box—“DC’s Most Wanted.” Funko is going back to the baddies for their next theme. From the image, we can be assured we’re getting some heavy-hitters.

This month’s comic book is none other than The Batman Adventures #1 — a comic book series set in the Batman: The Animated Series universe. The cover is Batman in Pop! form, and his pose is the one seen at the end of the intro for the cartoon.

The t-shirt is all black, which allows the graphic to really pop (no pun intended). The graphic is a Pop! interpretation of the image seen during the cartoon’s end credits. I’m sure many of us who saw the end credits as kids had very mixed feelings — the music was epic, but it also signaled the end of a glorious thirty minutes.
Legion of Collectors “Batman: The Animated Series” Mr. Freeze Pop! Figure
We now move into the “big ticket” items for the box. First up is the very special Mr. Freeze Pop! figure. Many fans have been hankering for this one — and Funko really delivered. The essence of the cartoon’s incarnation is captured perfectly. From his red-tinted glasses to his freeze ray, everything is perfect. The most impressive feature of this figure is his glass helmet. This sculpt will definitely draw a lot of attention.
Legion of Collectors “Batman: The Animated Series” Dorbz Ridez
Finally, we have the star of the show. Batman, in Dorbz form, is shown riding in his famous Batmobile — the turbine engine vehicle that raced through Gotham City. This version of Dorbz — called Dorbz Ridez — is a first for Legion of Collectors. There couldn’t have been a better box to introduce this new product line. The packaging, like all Dorbz packaging, is very collector-friendly. The stiff cardboard, adorned with metallic lettering, is very attractive and will definitely hold up well. And the generous windows allow in-box collectors a great view of the product.
