Young Justice: Outsiders will feature unfinished storylines from past seasons

Young Justice: Outsiders will be using some previously shelved story arcs!
When Young Justice was abruptly cancelled back in 2013, it was clear to see that a few stray plot threads were left unresolved. With the show now returning, many have wondered if the creative team will take advantage of these unfinished stories. According to the show’s creators, that’s the plan.
In a recent interview with Comic Book, show creator Brandon Vietti talked about getting the opportunity to revisit these characters and their world:

"“It was the first series I got to produce and write on and working with Greg [Weisman] and making that show was absolutely near and dear to my heart, and all of those characters we put so much time into creating, crafting, growing with Phil [Bourassa] and the rest of our crew, our actors as well. It was nice to get back into those characters, visit them.”"
Vietti then confirmed the new season will include incomplete story arcs that were in development during the previous seasons:
"“There were a lot of unfinished stories with them that we had ideas for, I think even in our first and second season, story ideas written down on little 3×5 cards and put on a wall and we just couldn’t get to those 3×5 cards in our first two seasons but Greg, he kept all of them and they came out, they’re up on the wall again. So we’re going back into those and trying to continue, logically, the story progressions that everybody got to see in the first two season but also bring in these new ideas that we’ve had for a while but will shed new light on different aspects of the characters.”"
For fans, it was disappointing enough that the show ended so soon, but it hurt even more knowing that a number of plotlines were not completely wrapped up. With this, viewers will finally get a true sense of closure.

While the story possibilities are endless, the biggest ones are probably Kid Flash’s apparent disappearance into the Speed Force and Vandal Savage’s deal with Darkseid. It sounds like the creators still want to take these characters in new directions, which is also what fans want. However, it’s good to know some old ideas will be dusted off and used for this new crop of episodes.
Young Justice: Outsiders begins streaming on DC’s digital service in 2018.
