2. They can focus more on the villain’s perspective
What’s interesting about this franchise is that it’s about the villains, not the heroes. Which means we get a whole other perspective of the characters in this world. We get to see why they turned bad and the consequences and punishment they face from being villains. At the end of traditional superhero movies, the hero saves the day and gets rewarded with love or something positive. In Suicide Squad the villains saved the day and went back to jail. Yeah, Killer Croc got to watch BET but there clearly is a difference here. But that’s okay because it’s a fresh perspective we get to enjoy as an audience.
Also, in Suicide Squad we got to see how terrifying and dangerous the heroes are to the villains. Deadshot and Harley are tracked down by Batman and taken in, like a monster in a horror movie. Boomerang robs a bank and is about to get away clean when all of a sudden a guy runs super fast instantly stops him. That must make these villains feel weak and pathetic, that’s interesting to me and it makes me want to see what they do next.
