The Flash season 4 promo: ‘Hero Reborn’
The latest promo for season 4 of The Flash is out. What footage does this show for the upcoming slate of episodes?
The Flash will return to The CW in October for season 4. It’s set to follow the events that concluded season 3, which saw Barry Allen go into the Speed Force, after defeating Savitar. That may leave Team Flash in disarray as the next season starts.
Promos and trailers for season 4 have shown up on occasion. However, there’s a new one, and just weeks before The Flash returns to the air.
This latest promo titled “Hero Reborn” shows Barry’s return, along with a villain that shows up in the 30-second clip:
This promo seems single episode-centric. That means everything seen in this clip could be in episode 1 and quickly culminate Barry’s time in the Speed Force. Judging by the video, it’s a period that roughed him up and gave him facial hair.
The previous trailer was also around Barry’s return and how he could come back. Might that be part of a single episode, too?

If The Flash packs these clips into the season opener’s arc, then it will be a somewhat similar path that season 3, episode 1 had. This had the highly-anticipated Flashpoint storyline culminate within the 42 minutes, instead of extending it across multiple episodes. It still had implications throughout season 3, but didn’t provide the exciting impact it could have. This developed Savitar, the season’s big bad, gave Caitlin Snow her Killer Frost powers, and killed Cisco Ramon’s brother.
Doing this, again, won’t guarantee a disappointment. It just depends on how it’s executed. Will the moment be dramatic that Team Flash gets Barry back? Are fans going to be stuck on a cliffhanger after the first episode? Is there something else to this storyline that no one’s aware of?
