Kingsman: Matthew Vaughn is interested to direct a third movie
By Brendan Day
Matthew Vaughn is keen to direct a third Kingsman film.
Suit up agents, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is hitting theaters this weekend. The sequel to the smash hit Kingsman: The Secret Service is shaping up to be one of the best movies this fall. Your favorite characters are back as well as some fresh new faces such as Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges and many more!
Director Matthew Vaughn is back too, who always guarantees an action-packed adventure. But it doesn’t look like he’s ready to clock out of the franchise. According to CinemaBlend, Vaughn spoke about the future of the franchise in an interview:
"I think there’s a story in my head which will be finished by the end of the next one. And then after that then, of course, there could be Statesman movies, there could be spinoff character films. The universe could continue with new agents. Or, you know, Colin (Firth) could become Arthur (…) or new characters could come in. Or new kids get trained. There’s so many options, but I also think it’s better not to be too greedy."
For those that may not be familiar with director Matthew Vaughn, he’s one of the most successful directors working today. Most known for Kingsman: The Secret Service, turning a popular graphic novel into a surprise blockbuster hit. He’s a veteran when it comes to directing comic book films. In 2011, he directed X-Men: First Class, which single handily resurrected the X-Men movie franchise. Without that movie’s success, you wouldn’t have X-Men: Days of Future’s Past, The Wolverine, Logan, X-Men: Apocalypse or even Deadpool. He took a dying series and made it popular again. His other famous movie is Kick-Ass, the bloody action movie that turned actress Chloe Grace Mortez into a huge star.
